Thoth is the God of Knowledge and Wisdom. He appeared in 2016's Gods of Egypt, played by Chadwick Boseman.
According to Thoth, he is one of the oldest living gods aside from Ra. He, however, witnessed the creation of the world before it even happened and had since taken on the role as lord of the sacred world.
•Nigh-Immortality: As a god, Thoth's age has been slowed to the point of near immortality. Despite looking like a man in his 30s, Thoth is one of the oldest living gods in existence, aside from Ra himself. Even though he's immortal he could still get stunned such as when his brained was pulledpulled out by Set.
•Nigh-Omniscience: Being the God of Wisdom and Knowledge, Thoth's mind is his weapon. He possesses an almost infinite knowledge of anything and everything in the world. He possesses virtually limitless intelligence and knowledge. He was able to deduce that Horus needs the answer to the Sphinx before the latter could tell it.
•Duplication: Thoth has the unique ability to create identical clones of himself. These clones are linked to him and will follow any command he gives. He does not trust anybody but himself, so his clones act as his loyal servants.
•Superhuman Agility: Despite being a god of wisdom, Thoth had demonstrated his agility against the sphinx while in Set's pyramid when it attacked him and the others.
•Power Limitation: Despite Thoth's intelligence being vast, his answers can be sometimes incorrect. His mind is also a vulnerable spot, as Set was able to enter his head and literally pull it out, leaving Thoth in a mindless state or possibly dead.
•Honesty: Thoth is unable to tell a lie, he must always tell the truth regardless of the question or his personal intentions.
Some suggested that the casting of black actor Chadwick Boseman, who plays the god Thoth, played into the Magical Negro stereotype. The previous year, the biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings by director Ridley Scott received similar backlash for having a white cast.
