Season 9 of The Next Step was officially confirmed by Myles Dobson on October 1, 2023. It consists of 22 episodes. Filming started on August 4, 2023 and ended on September 21, 2023. On October 3, 2023, CBBC announced on their YouTube channel that Season 9 was currently in production.
Season 9 premiered in the UK on April 7, 2024 on BBC iPlayer. The first two episodes of Season 9.5 premiered on CBBC and BBC iPlayer on April 26, 2024. Season 9 premiered in Canada on YTV on May 13, 2024. The final three episodes of Season 9 premiered on CBBC and BBC iPlayer on May 24, 2024.
