The film is directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, based on a script by Ed Solomon, that adapts the Marvel comic book series The Men in Black by Lowell Cunningham. In the film, Agent K (Jones) and Agent J (Smith) investigate a series of seemingly unrelated criminal incidents related to the extraterrestrials who live in secret on Earth.
Edgar the Bug (or just The Bug) is a Bug alien and the main antagonist of the first Men in Black film. His appearance is that of a giant cockroach though while on earth, he adopts the disguise of a human farmer.
In the original film, D'Onofrio portrayed Edgar and Edgar the Bug. In Men in Black: The Series, he reprised his role as Edgar the Bug, and also portrayed Edwin the Bug, Edmund Clark Moffat and various Bug aliens.
