Aster Calyx, formerly known as Parsim, is a character in the series, Beacon 23, who is portrayed by Lena Headey and Hannah Melissa Scott.

Childhood
Parsim is born to Grisha and Farut, who are both told they are infertile so she is unexpected. As she grows up, she becomes aware of the strange light phenomena that captivates her attention, much like those observed by Dr. Avalon. Her parents are understandably worried as Parsim's fixation intensifies, leading to her exhibiting peculiar behaviors such as singing in an unknown language. However, Parsim's connection with the lights and relics deepens, signaling a unique bond with the enigmatic forces surrounding the beacon. When Grisha intervenes to protect her, the ISA go after them. Parsim is given a new identity from her mom when they relocate - Aster Calyx.
Adulthood
Aster, a scientist, initially boards the ship Crest in response to reports supposedly sent by Solomon, indicating valuable mineral deposits. She becomes the sole survivor after the Crest's collision with dark matter. She gets assisted by Halan (who initially identifies as Solomon) upon regaining consciousness. Aster's suspicions about Solomon's true intentions deepen as she uncovers inconsistencies in his story, ultimately exposing his deceit through a video accessed with the help of a drone. Armed with a knife and aided by her personal AI, Harmony, Aster confronts Halan about lying about his identity. She is overpowered by him, leading to her confinement by Halan as a deserter from the force. Despite the tension between them, Aster demonstrates compassion towards Halan, providing him with medication to ease his PTSD symptoms. She forms an alliance with Halan against external threats, including the Wreckers and Coley, demonstrating her courage and determination to survive.
