Mar 7, 2006 · Lillian was credited as having named Mickey Mouse, when on a train ride with Walt from New York to Los Angeles. Following Walt’s death, Lillian remarried three years later to John Truyens, only to be widowed again in 1981 when she reverted back to using the “Disney” last name.
Lillian is credited with having named her husband's famous character, Mickey Mouse, during a train trip from New York to California in 1928. Walt showed a drawing of the cartoon mouse to his wife and told her that he was going to name it "Mortimer Mouse."
