Ziraldo Alves Pinto (October 24, 1932 – April 6, 2024), known mononymously as Ziraldo, was a Brazilian author, cartoonist, painter, comics creator, and journalist. Ziraldo began his career as a cartoonist in the 1950s, working for several Brazilian magazines and newspapers.
He had two marriages: in 1958, Ziraldo married Vilma Gontijo, who became the mother of his three children (Daniela, Fabrízia and Antônio). The couple stayed together until the year 2000. In 2002, the author married Márcia Martins.
Ziraldo was born on 24 October 1932 in Caratinga, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He was a writer and actor, known for Rio, Verão & Amor (1966), Os Cosmonautas (1962) and An Extremely Nutty Teacher (2011). He was married to Vilma Gontijo Alves Pinto. He died on 6 April 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil.
