- Letitia Wright as Shuri. Letitia Wright, who made a name for herself as T'Challa's sister Shuri in Black Panther, is the lead in the superhero sequel. In the sequel, we find Shuri heavily grieving the loss of her brother, King T'Challa, and feeling guilty about his death.
- Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia. The Oscar-winning artist Lupita Nyong'o will reprise her role as Nakia the love interest and childhood friend of T'Challa. Since the events of the last film, Nakia has once again left the Kingdom of Wakanda, living in another part of the world, where that is and what she's doing, you'll just have to see the movie to find out.
- Danai Gurira as Okoye. Danai Gurira will be coming back as the fierce Okoye, the commander of the Wakandan military and intelligence, as well as the General of the Dora Milaje.
- Angela Bassett as Queen Ramonda. Angela Bassett will return to the kingdom of Wakanda as Ramonda, T'Challa and Shuri's mother and the Queen Mother of Wakanda.
- Letitia Wright. Wakanda has Princess Shuri to thank for many of its modern technological innovations, and T’Challa certainly wouldn’t have gotten far in Black Panther without his sister’s help, which included her giving him a nanotech-enhanced suit contained inside a Panther Habit.
- Danai Gurira. Within the MCU, Danai Gurira’s Okoye leads the Dora Milaje, Wakanda’s all-female special forces group. She was one of T’Challa’s key allies in Black Panther and fought alongside her king in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
- Lupita Nyong’o. Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia was once part of the Dora Milaje, but then shifted to being a War Dog, i.e. an international spy for Wakanda. It was also noted in Black Panther how she and T’Challa used to be romantically involved, and at the end of the the movie, it looked like they were resuming their relationship.
- Winston Duke. The Jabari Tribe wasn’t on the best of terms with the rest of Wakanda at the beginning of Black Panther, and its leader, M’Baku, even challenged T’Challa for the right to lead Wakanda.
