The SCAR didn’t receive any mechanical changes this season. The only difference is that lower rarities used to have the model of the M4 so people only associated “SCAR” with the slightly higher accuracy and lower recoil of higher rarities.

Season 1 was the first season of Fortnite: Battle Royale. It started on October 26, 2017 and concluded on December 13, 2017. It was the second shortest season in the game, lasting only 49 days.
XP Progression System
Unlike the following seasons, there was no Battle Pass. Instead, there was an XP progression system where you unlocked rewards to purchase by gaining XP in-game. This progression system, along with the Season Shop, was taken away with the introduction of the Battle Pass in Season 2. The Season Shop has not returned since Season 1.

The developer supported, community run subreddit dedicated to the Fortnite: Battle Royale game mode by Epic Games. Fun Fact: The Assault Rifle (M4A1 and SCAR) is the only Chapter 1 Season 1 weapon that haven't been vaulted. Imagine how much vaulting these would switch up the game. Not for the better though.
Bloom and recoil were always worse in lower rarities, only difference was that those rarities previously only existed with the M4 model so we only associated that kind of erratic bloom with an M4, whereas the name “SCAR” was associated only with better bloom and recoil control.
