She was a faculty member of the University of Pittsburgh and was a Dean of the Nursing School at Duquesne University.

Rosemarie Rizzo Parse created the Human Becoming Theory of Nursing, which guides nurses to focus on quality of life from each person’s own perspective as the goal of nursing.
