On June 27, 2022, Carly Spencer ignores a call from her broker Reggie while visiting with her mom Bobbie and daughter Josslyn Jacks at the Metro Court Gardens. She assumes it is good news and doesn't want to interrupt the visit.
On June 29, Reggie finds Carly and Drew Cain at the Gardens and tells Carly that Stillwater Venture Group is exercising their option to sell her half of the Metro Court. Carly is fine with this as she has thirty days to raise the money she put into Aurora Media stock. Reggie says Carly could sell all her investments and it wouldn't be enough.
Drew suggests they raise the money when Reggie says Carly doesn't have the capitol to buy back her half. Reggie explains that Stillwater doesn't have to wait the thirty days. Carly can't demonstrate solvency so Stillwater has the option to sell as soon as they find a buyer. Carly wonders if she will lose the Metro Court.
On July 11, Reggie is meeting with Carly in her office and isn't comfortable with her assuming more debt. Carly agrees but says she doesn't have a choice. Reggie mentions the interest rates alone with be high as her best friend and hotel partner Olivia Quartermaine walks into the room and overhears the discussion. She starts arguing with Carly and Reggie excuses himself. Carly tells him to look into the loan, let her know her best terms, and she will make a decision.
