Peter Lord: The Main Thing. Earlier this year I traded emails with Peter Lord, who was my pastor for a couple of years when I was a mid-twenty-something young man just starting out in my career. Now somewhere around 82, he’s retired from the pastorate but still active in teaching people how to hear God and care for their soul.
Morph was created by Peter Lord and David Sproxton to feature in the children’s programme Take Hart alongside the artist and presenter Tony Hart. Peter and David made a very simple terracotta-coloured figure who could change shape, and because he could metamorphose they called him Morph!
Lord. Peter Lord is Co-Founder and Creative Director of Aardman. He co-founded the studio with his long-time collaborator, David Sproxton, in 1972. As a director, Lord has been honoured with two Academy Award ® nominations for Best Animated Short, the first in 1992 for Adam, and for Wat’s Pig in 1996, and Best Animated Feature for Pirates!

Lord stretches the little clay man’s arms into a luxurious, spread-eagled pose and moulds his mouth into a cavernous yawn as I ask about the renaissance of a character who hasn’t been on any new adventures since 1997.
