The Rose Garden story begins in Los Angeles in 1964, when teenage guitarists John Noreen and Jim Groshong got together with drummer Bruce Bowdin and bass player Bill Fleming to form a group called the Blokes, in hopes of capitalizing on the popularity of the Beatles and other British rock bands.
