Mar 25, 2011 · Just wondering if the Fiat Ducato 2.3 engine is adequate in a 4 ton motorhome. I'm sure the 3.0L would be better but there is obviously a cost to consider in initial outlay and, no doubt, fuel consumption. Any advice appreciated.

Jun 19, 2012 · AFAIK, the 2.2 engine is common to the Transit, Boxer, Jumper, and the Ducato (with the 2.2 rather than the 2.3 engine) and is a Ford-derived unit. It is not the same as the 2.2 engines used in most of the current car ranges from the same manufacturers, where Ford, Peugeot and Citroen all use a different Peugeot(PSA)-derived unit.
