Frank Tagliano ( Steven Van Zandt) is a former New York mobster who, after testifying in a trial in the United States, joins the witness-protection program. Intrigued by the place after watching the Winter Olympics in 1994, he is relocated to Lillehammer in Norway.
After Frank The Fixer Tagliano testifies against his Mafia boss in New York, he enters the Witness Protection Program and makes an unusual demand: he wants to be set up with a new life in the Norwegian small town of Lillehammer or as he calls it, Lilyhammer.
