MORIMOTO-SAN: I worked as an animator for ten years, since I was 20, but have recently shifted over to directing – when I turned 30 I felt more like following the path of director than animator.
Koji Morimoto is a Japanese anime director. Some of his works include being an animator in the Akira film; shorts in Robot Carnival, Short Peace, and The Animatrix; and key animation in anime such as Kiki's Delivery Service, City Hunter, and Fist of the North Star. He is the co-founder of Studio 4°C.
Kôji Morimoto was born on December 26, 1959 in Wakayama, Japan. He is a director and writer, known for The Animatrix (2003), Akira (1988) and Genius Party Beyond (2008). He is married to Fukushima, Atsuko.
