Boris Pasternak was a great Russian poet, the author of the novel Doctor Zhivago, and the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1958. The son of the artist Leonid Pasternak and his wife Rosalia, a gifted pianist, Boris was brought up in an environment rich in art and music.
