Feb 6, 2019 · The Apostle John (also known as Saint John) was one of Jesus Christ’s 12 disciples, and a prominent leader in the early Christian church. Along with James and Peter, John was one of Jesus’ closest confidants, and he is traditionally considered the author of the Gospel of John.
- The Creation Story. The simple truth of the creation story is that God is the author of creation. In Genesis 1 we are presented with the beginning of a divine drama that can only be examined and understood from the standpoint of faith.

John wrote 5 books in the New Testament. He wrote The Gospel According to John, First, Second and Third John, and he was the penman of the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. All of his books were written later in life and after all the other books in the Bible were recorded.
It is widely believed that the unnamed disciple who entered the court of the high priest with Peter was John the apostle (John 18:15-18), because this disciple was known to the high priest. The “beloved disciple” again is seen as the only disciple who witnessed the crucifixion.
The story of the Bible happens in four acts—creation, fall, redemption, and restoration—and is told over the course of 66 books. But most importantly, from beginning to end, the Bible is one story about Jesus Christ—who he is and what he has done for us.
