Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt (French pronunciation: [eʁik emanɥɛl ʃmit]; born 28 March 1960) is a Franco - Belgian playwright, short story writer and novelist, as well as a film director. His plays have been staged in over fifty countries all over the world.

Both plays are published under the title My Gospels by Albin Michel. In January 2008, he staged Sentimental Tectonics at the Théâtre Marigny in Paris. This is an intense and witty psychological thriller in which cruelty is veiled in tenderness.
