Oct 10, 2017 · ATLANTA (AP) — Two Atlanta contractors have been sentenced to prison as part of an ongoing federal investigation into bribes paid for city contracts. A judge on Tuesday ordered Elvin R. Mitchell Jr. to serve five years in prison and to pay more than $1.12 million in restitution.
Elvin R. Mitchell Jr., of Atlanta, Georgia, pleaded guilty to conspiratorial bribery and money laundering and was ultimately sentenced to four years in prison. Charles P. Richards Jr., of Tucker, Georgia, pleaded guilty to conspiratorial bribery and was ultimately sentenced to one year, eight months in prison.
