Oct 26, 2020 · There are several persons named James in the New Testament: James the father of Judas (not Iscariot) (Acts 1:13); “James the younger” (Mark 15:40); James the son of Zebedee (Mark 3:17); James the son of Alphaeus (Mark 3:18); and James the half-brother of Jesus (Matthew 13:55; Galatians 1:19).
James calls us to walk the walk and not just talk the talk when it comes to discipleship. He offers us both warning and wisdom. James warns against the unwise life of a faith without works (2:14-26), of hearing the Word but not doing it (1:22), and of an empty religion that doesn’t lead to love (1:26-27).
