The Sheila Singh Lab research program is dedicated to applying a developmental neurobiology approach to the study of human brain tumours. As a pediatric neurosurgeon, Dr. Singh is acutely aware of the needs of patients and clinicians dealing with these diseases and uses that unique perspective to guide her research questions and areas of focus.
Dr. Sheila Singh is a Professor in the Department of Surgery and Biochemistry. She is the Director of the Surgeon-Scientist Program, Director of the Pediatric Brain Tumour Study Group, and the Director of the Centre for Discovery in Cancer Research (CDCR).
In the laboratory, we work with tissue culture from animal models and patient samples, measuring outcomes and analyzing results using gold-standard molecular biology techniques in state-of-the-art facilities at the McMaster Stem Cell and Cancer Research Institute.
