Captain Dolph Laserhawk is the titular main protagonist of the 2023 sci-fi action adult animated series Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix and the BL manga spinoff

Dolph Laserhawk is a cybernetically enhanced super soldier created by Eden's Eden Tech Military. He defected from Eden's military and ran around with his boyfriend, Alex Taylor, doing heists together up until Alex's betrayal. The show follows Dolph and his transition from labelled terrorist of the state, to unwilling member of a special unit called The Ghosts. The series has currently ended on a cliffhanger with Dolph being blown up in an attempt to kill The Warden. Instead of death, he appears in a pixelated world and is greeted by Sam Fisher.

    Backstory

As a child, Dolph Laserhawk was put into a government program by Eden and was found to be a genetic match for their latest project. He was forcibly taken from his mother and placed into a child soldier program. Within this program, he was subjected to a series of experiments, resulting in his arm being replaced with a cybernetic arm and what appears to be a computer system installed into his brain. This computer system allows for Dolph to operate his arm, scan objects and people, see, all while being powered by Dolph's own body. Dolph is not alone while he goes through this program, as he befriends the daughter of one of the program's head scientists, Lucy Stillman. Stillman becomes 'the voice in Dolph's ear' as he grows and is sent on missions. She encourages him throughout his life, up until she commands him to kill a child during a disinformation mission. He promptly refuses and instead helps the child and her caretaker flee, before fleeing himself. He finds himself in Eden's vacation city, Beach City, and is forced to be homeless for an indiscernible amount of time, although we know he is about 18 at this time. For a while, he's forced to steal from others and eat out of garbage bins, until he attempts to mug Alex Taylor. Due to the computer system within his body cannibalising him in order to maintain itself in his malnourished state, he passes out in Alex's arms. Alex takes him to an apartment where him and his friend, Anna Grimsdottir live. While Dolph is coming to, Taylor and Grimsdottir discuss why an Eden soldier like Dolph is wandering Beach City. Grimsdottir believes Dolph to be more machine than man at first due to his arm and face plate, which leads Taylor to object by stating that he's never gotten 'fuck me eyes from a robot mugging [him].' He manages to convince her to groom Dolph into both a member of their team and his new boyfriend. After this discussion, Alex returns to the room where they left Dolph and flirts with him a bit, leading the romance deprived young man to fall for him. Alex takes Dolph out to buy him some new clothes, promising to allow him the choices that Eden denied him before rejecting his choice of a tracksuit. He then puts him into some business casual clothes, flirts with the young man again, and takes him to meet the rest of his crew. It appears that Alex has groomed others before as one member, Grace, asks if Dolph will do whatever Alex asks out of desperation. The poking at his character pisses off Dolph and he punches a punching bag to prove that he's not just some kid Alex picked up. They then leave to go have a beach date, where Alex spoils Dolph. He then drags Dolph down an alleyway where they are confronted by a gang who has beef with Alex and engage in a fight with the gang. Afterwards, Alex kisses Dolph and leads him back to the apartment, where he takes Dolph's virginity. During their pillow talk, Dolph unloads his backstory of how he was taken from his mother by Eden to Alex. He also mentions that his arm, which can turn into a plasma cannon, can be fired without Dolph's will with interference. After he expresses his sorrow about his mother, Alex seems to be disgruntled. There is then a timeskip where it's mentioned that Dolph had joined Alex's crew and conducted heists with them. The crew is celebrating on a beach, and Dolph mentions how he has been attempting to heal from his child soldier past. His healing is interrupted when he returns to his hotel room, where Stillman greets him. She tells him how Eden has been monitoring him and tells him that they've allegedly found his mother. She is working with a cult, and Eden needs Dolph to take down this cult that possesses a massive EMP in exchange for a reunion with his mother. After some coaxing from Alex, Dolph accepts the job. Dolph is dropped into what appears to be a city overtaken by the cult and carries out Stillman's orders up until he sees the woman who is meant to be his mother. Overjoyed, he embraces her and tells her he's her son, only to find out that she's just a random Indian woman. Disoriented by this, they are then attacked by the cult leader and the siege on the city continues. Alex and the crew drop in to support Dolph once he turns his back on Eden for misleading him. The head scientist that had experimented on Dolph, Dr. Stillman, then reveals that they have been working on a replacement for Dolph. The replacement, dressed in something like Vince Valentine clothing, attacks Dolph and his crew with a plasma cannon, wiping out majority of the crew in the process. It's not until Grimsdottir sacrifices herself by exploding the EMP that the replacement stops. With the city leveled, Alex and Dolph attempt to escape, only to be met by Lucy. She tries to apologise for her actions by offering to erase Dolph from Eden's systems and help him flee the country. Dolph nearly accepts, but Alex then activates his arm and forces him to shoot Lucy. In Dolph's panic, he reassures him that he did it for their survival, and the pair leave.
