David Engel (born 1951) is an American historian and Professor of Holocaust and Judaic Studies at New York University. Engel received his Ph.D. from the University of California in Los Angeles in 1979, and completed postdoctoral study at Hebrew University's Division of Holocaust Studies, Institute for Contemporary Jewry in Jerusalem.

Who is David Engel? David Engel is an American historian and Professor of Holocaust and Judaic Studies at New York University. Engel holds the 1979 Ph.D. from the University of California in Los Angeles, and completed postdoctoral study at Hebrew University's Division of Holocaust Studies, Institute for Contemporary Jewry in Jerusalem.
David Engel is Greenberg Professor of Holocaust Studies, Professor of Hebrew and Judaic Studies, and Professor of History at New York University. He is the author of seven books and more than 100 scholarly articles on various aspects of Jewish history in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
