Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is a private art school in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded in 1879 as the Columbus Art School and is one of the oldest private art and design colleges in the United States.
Joseph V. Canzani joined the school in 1950 and became our first president. He retired in 1996 after 46 years at the helm. Under Canzani’s leadership, we expanded our programs, became accredited as a college, and officially became known as Columbus College of Art & Design.
What we stand for. Ours is a community where all people, views and perspectives are welcomed. All of which make us better as an institution. And just as importantly, better prepare our students for successful careers as artists and designers in a multicultural world.
Columbus College of Art & Design’s Senior Leadership Team members bring together professional expertise, commitment to student success, and a focus on creative collaboration. They work with the college president, faculty, and others to create a meaningful learning environment for CCAD students.
Since its start, Beeler Gallery has embraced a range of contemporary and experimental art and design exhibitions for CCAD.
