Both would be in my all time PL team. I think Keane was the better leader, but would probably say Viera was slightly better because he was more of an all rounder.
Now, that’s a great thing to do, but Keane was actually better at receiving the ball and building from the back than Vieira. Vieira was slightly better than Keane as a footballer, but Keane was much better as a leader. Also Keane was far more consistent with his performances than Vieira.
Keane was a better leader. A bit of a nutter, but I’d probably run through walls for a captain like that. I’d pick Vieira purely for what he contributes in terms of play presuming that I have 10 other choices to find the leader.
