The film’s protagonist, Angel (Day), is a deaf and mute girl who – after a group of soldiers force their way into her family home and murder her family – is abducted and forced to work in a downtrodden brothel house ran by Viktor (Howarth).
Jul 5, 2018 · Angel is a young girl living in the Balkans in the mid-nineties. After the cold war ended, war broke out between the Yugoslavian republics and many civilians were caught in the crossfire – quite literally.
The main character Angel played by Rosie Day delivers a great performance, especially with the physical scenes. The special effects are really good, some of the best I have seen in a while. There is one scene where Ivan gets a knife in the mouth and it pokes through his cheek that just blew me away.
Year: 2012. Original title: The Seasoning House. Synopsis: Angel is an orphaned deaf mute, enslaved in a brothel where she administers drugs to the girls who are kidnapped and forced to prostitute themselves to the military and civilians.
