The Midori Shokai Co., Ltd. was established in 1950. In 1963 the name changed to Midori Co., Ltd. In 2006 Midori introduced the refillable leather notebook covers that we know and love. They were originally only available in regular size and were stamped with "Midori Co., Ltd | Made in Thailand" on the back.
