(29) He that hath the bride is the bridegroom.--This is the only instance in this Gospel where the familiar imagery of an Eastern marriage meets us. On a groom's side, you can expect to find a best man, ushers, groomsmen (sometimes given the same roles as ushers - but we'll go into that later) and the mother and/or father of the groom.
