Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) is a widower who holds onto his prejudices despite the changes in his Michigan neighborhood and the world around him.
Clint Eastwood was able to direct and star in Gran Torino because filming for Invictus was delayed until 2009. Filming occurred in Michigan not Minnesota because of the generous tax credits offered by Detroit.
