- Death. Who better to become the strongest of Weapon Meisters than the person who started the concept? When Great Old Ones Eibon and Death contemplated the war between mankind and Witches, they decided to use Witch Souls to create Demon Weapons to combat their threat.
- Kishin Asura. Symbolically opposing Death the Kid is his older brother, Kishin Asura, who inherited the Madness of Fear from their father. While already godlike due to his primordial madness as a Great Old One, Asura’s over-consumption of pure good souls also transformed him into one of the first Kishins, beings of unimaginable power, before becoming Soul Eater’s final antagonist.

- Asura. The only character in the show who could even hope to match the strength of Lord Death would have to be Asura, one of his own flesh and blood. Asura was born as a fragment of his father, one that contained all of his fear, which thusly made him incredibly irrational and unstable.
- Lord Death. It can be hard to remember at times that Lord Death is one of the most powerful beings in existence. Without a doubt, there isn't a single soul at the Academy who could manage to stand up to him, even Professor Stein wielding his Death Scythe partner.
- Professor Stein. Before ever meeting the students, Stein was dubbed the most powerful meister to ever have graduated from the academy. Not only is he able to tune his own soul wavelength to match any weapon that he gains even the slightest interest in, but he can channel powerful attacks even without a weapon.
