Xie Qingcheng (谢清呈, Xìe Qīngchéng) is Xie Xue's older brother and He Yu's former doctor. He currently works as a medical school professor.
He has peach blossom eyes which are funnily enough very prevalent to the novel. He is pale and tall, he looks like the conventional handsome man and usually dresses and speaks formally.
He cares very much for those around him and attempts to hide it. He is very independent and has a taste for cigarettes they remind him of someone dear. He is very paternal and conservative, very traditional as well this is what causes some conflict in the novel.
Invented names are not protected by copyright law because the name itself is not an original literary work. We know, however, that fictional characters are much more than just an invented name: they are often well-defined personalities with distinctive looks, habits and speech patterns.
