is the television adaptation of the Wings of Fire series. It was first announced in 2019,[event 1] though little was revealed about it. It was under the works of Warner Bros. Animation and was going to be launched on Netflix as a 3D animation. The first season would have been the adaptation of book one and would have contained ten episodes, each being forty minutes long. Ava DuVernay spearheaded the series, while Dan Wilano and Christa Starr ran the show; DuVernay, Tui T. Sutherland, Sam Register, Sarah Bremmner, and Justin Ridge worked on executive producing duties. According to IMDB, as of April 2nd, 2022, the show had left "pre-production" and has begun "filming". It was originally given a 2022 release, but the show has been cancelled by Netflix over "creative differences", rather than the costs needed to produce the show.
On February 22nd, 2024, a new TV series was announced, this time developed at Amazon MGM Studios. As of February 23rd, no writer is currently attached, though Marc Resteghini will executive produce via Jack Tar Productions. The TV series will be remade entirely, as no assets from the Netflix show can be reused.[citation needed]
