Aug 10, 2024 · The back of the DooM 3 BFG Edition box specifically states it includes Doom and Doom 2. Anyone looking at that expects that buying the game very well gives them the games Doom and Doom 2, just as the box claims.
Included in the BFG Edition are remasters of the first two Doom games with revised controls. This release of the games uses the Gravis Ultrasound soundfont rather than the OPL2 ( used in the original DOS version) or SC-55 (intended sound, used in many modern releases).
As far as the difference visually, GZDoom is not a vanilla source port and does have some visual changes including lighting and other stuff, which makes it not look the same as the games do in the BFG edition. For a more vanilla experience, I recommend using Crispy Doom.

Aug 17, 2019 · Recently played the BFG edition, if you want a classic unmodded Doom experience that plays like it did in the 90s, play BFG controls are smoother and looks alot cleaner than DOS. If you want a fully remastered up to date modern Doom with full mouse movement get GZdoom, loads of mods as well.
