May 24, 2022 · Filming in winter, Cruise and the rest of the crew used Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains to film a pivotal action scene in the snow. Although a relatively small state park, the unique makeup of the location made it the perfect, compact place to capture the intricate and agile movements of a fighter jet at top speed.

The SFGate informed that the destroyed airbase was filmed at Lake Tahoe Airport, near the forest. Location manager Mike Fantasia found this spot, with a mountaintop overlooking the airport, after scouting more than 200 aerodromes.
In December of 2018, Tom Cruise and the movie’s production crew filmed at two locations in South Lake Tahoe. One location was the Lake Tahoe airport and the other was in Washoe Meadows State Park. I took the bulk of the photos presented in this article at the state park on December 11, 2018.

May 25, 2022 · A central filming location visited by the crew in the area was the Lake Tahoe Airport. The public airport is located at 1901 Airport Road Suite 100, three miles southwest of South Lake Tahoe. The airport stands in for the remote military airstrip in the movie.
