Dec 4, 2013 · An homage to the 1980’s coming-of-age films Stand By Me and The Goonies, as well as Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn, Mud was filmed in Southeast Arkansas, in the towns of Dumas, De Witt, Lake Village, Crocketts Bluff, and Stuttgart. Mud employed over 100 cast and crew members, half were Arkansas residents.
