As well as it’s debut appearance in Hitchcock’s Psycho in 1960, the house has appeared in many other movies. Although the modern TV series ‘Bates Motel’ features the iconic characters, the show is filmed in Canada, so the Universal backlot version of the house is not featured.

They created a system of crawl spaces and aluminum screens in the ceiling of motel rooms that meant the couple could observe the going ons in most of the hotel rooms from what appeared to be a ventilation shaft to their patrons.
