These little dough parcels originated in the mountains and are said to be a descendent of Xiaolongbao introduced by way of the Mongols (you can see the resemblance in the shape).
- Don’t throw bread in the bin. As you move around Tbilisi and the rest of Georgia, you might notice plastic bags tied to the outside of dumpster bins. Bread is considered sacred and it’s taboo to bin even your crusts, thus many people package up their leftovers and leave them outside.
