    Genshin Impact Fontaine Region Guide

By Cedric Pabriga, Triforce, Jen Rothery, +26 more

The Genshin Impact Fontaine region is the place to be if you want to continue the Archon Quests, see a brilliant live performance at the Opera Epiclese, or go for a swim. This Genshin Impact Fontaine guide will point you towards every key location, quest, local specialty, and boss fight found in the Nation of Justice.

The picture below shows the full Fontaine map as released in Genshin Impact version 4.0, including all three Statues of the Seven. Some parts of the map are underwater, with the most important underwater area being the large sea in the center. For more info on Fontaine's underwater world, take a look at our Fontaine underwater exploration guide.

The Fontaine maps shown below were added in Genshin Impact version 4.1. You can see the regular map on the left, and the "underwater" map on the right. This part of Fontaine lies north of the Court of Fontaine, and includes The Linney Region and the Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering Region.

The locations listed below play a key role in Fontaine's story. While most of them are pretty hard to miss, make sure you pay them a visit.

•Court of Fontaine: the big city. You'll find shops, a blacksmith, and the Adventurers' Guild in this location.

•Opera Epiclese: As one of the most famous buildings in Fontaine, this massive opera house is used for performances as well as court hearings. You can find this building in the northeastern part of the map.

•Merusea Village: A large, underground area in the Beryl sub-region, southern Fontaine. It's home to the Melusine people. To reach Merusea Village, do the world quest called A Brush of Seafoam and Crimson, which is part of the Ancient Colors quest series.

•Fortress of Meropide: a massive underwater prison located in the Linney Region, northwestern Fontaine. Archon Quest Chapter 4 Act 3, "To the Stars Shining in the Depths", will take you there.

•Tower of Ipsissimus: an enormous tower located in Fontaine's Morte Region - although its position might change once you've completed the world quest called "In the Wake of Narcissus".

Fontaine isn’t short on interesting people, and many of them will eventually be released as playable characters. Here’s an overview of Fontaine’s characters so far:

•Lyney: a 5-star Pyro character using a bow. Lyney was released in version 4.0, phase one.

•Lynette: a 4-star Anemo character using a sword. Lynette was released in version 4.0, phase one.

•Freminet: a 4-star Cryo character using a Claymore. Freminet was released in version 4.0, phase two.

•Neuvilette: a 5-star Hydro character using a Catalyst. Neuvilette was added in version 4.1, phase one.

•Wriothesley: a 5-star Cryo character using a Catalyst. Wriothesley arrived in version 4.1, phase 2.

Fontaine is the Nation of Justice, a watery land led by Hydro Archon Focalors (a.k.a. Furina). She's not one of the original Seven Archons, only taking her place after the original Hydro Archon died. Nonetheless, Fontaine's Archon is incredibly popular - rather than governing her people, however, she seems mostly interested in Fontaine’s famous opera scene. No wonder that Fontaine’s most famous building, the Opera Epiclese, is her favorite place to spend time.

While opera and other types of performance arts are a key part of Fontaine’s culture, this region is also home to talented engineers. The aquabus transportation system is just one example of Fontaine's technological advancement.

Besides humans, you may spot the fluffy-eared Melusine people around Fontaine. There used to be another type of creature in the Nation of Justice, the Hydro-like Lochfolk, but it is said that they left because they didn't get along with the new Archon.

Sadly, not all is well in the land of Hydro. An ancient prophecy warns that the sea will swallow the sinful people of Fontaine, only allowing the Hydro Archon to survive. While initially regarded as a mere legend, the waters of Fontaine have started to rise, suggesting that the prophecy may be true after all…

There's a lot going on in Fontaine, both in the form of spectacular Archon Quests and intriguing side stories. Here's an overview of every quest in Fontaine, divided by their type.

Archon Quest Chapter IV takes place in Fontaine. You need an Adventure Rank of 40 or higher to start these quests:

•Chapter 4, Act 1: Prelude of Blancheur and Noirceur

•Chapter 4, Act 2: As Light Rain Falls Without Reason

•Chapter 4, Act 3: To the Stars Shining in the Depths

    •Chapter 4, Act 4: Cataclysm's Quickening
