The Operation Anthropoid memorial is conveniently accessible within the city of Prague. It’s located beneath the Cathedral of Saints Cyril and Methodius, right in the center of Prague’s New Town. You can get there in just a few minutes’ walk from many of the popular tourist sites and is just a stroll around the corner from the “Dancing House.”
Before you even enter the memorial, follow the sidewalk along the south side of the church (along Resslova) until you see ‘1942’ in the sidewalk tiles.

The Operation Anthropoid Memorial (Czech: Památník Operace Anthropoid) is a monument in Libeň, Prague that commemorates Operation Anthropoid, an ambush on senior Nazi official Reinhard Heydrich by Czechoslovakian partisans on 27 May 1942 which resulted in his death one week later.
May 7, 2023 · The mission to carry out this assassination was codenamed Operation Anthropoid. The 2016 movie Anthropoid brought this event to a wider audience, and more and more visitors now seek out the Heydrich assassination location in Prague.
May 27, 2022 · The Operation Anthropoid Memorial, located where Heydrich was assassinated in Libeň, opened in 2009. Last year, MPs debated making May 27 a special day of celebration.
