A level folder is often identified by having a level.dat file, along with other subfolders to store the maps and regions of the level. Level folders will always contain the items in bold, and will sometimes contain the items in italics.
If you press F3 while in-game, near the top left portion of the screen you will see a ton of text information. Near the bottom of that it will list the seed for the world. You can then go and plug that directly into the app or you can generate a SSP level and go get the level.dat of that world to use.
