The horseman’s camp is a large grassy area with many shaded primitive campsites. There are high lines, stock water, restrooms, picnic tables and a pavillion. Because of the popularity of this park, check on park websites to see if you need a reservation for camping, particularly on weekends and holidays.
Oct 26, 2024 · A 46-site primitive horse camp is located at the south end of the forest on Poe Run Road. Latrines are provided at the camp, but electricity and drinking water are not available. Radiating from the horse camp are 33 miles of bridle trails.
