The main trailhead is out of Horsemans Camp. Day-use parking is available at the Horseman’s Camp and at least two other locations in the park. GPS parking coordinates for the other day-use parking areas is shown on the trail map.

The horseman’s camp is a large grassy area with many shaded primitive campsites. There are high lines, stock water, restrooms, picnic tables and a pavillion. Because of the popularity of this park, check on park websites to see if you need a reservation for camping, particularly on weekends and holidays.
The horse camp has a gravel drive with grassy campsites and plenty of shade. High line/tie rails, stock water and a port-a-john are available. The trails are closed to horse use from December 16 to April 14 each year. Check map for another trailhead. Trail rating: moderate to challenging.
