Chapter 3: Season 4, also known as Season 22, was the twenty-second season of Fortnite: Battle Royale. It started on September 18th 2022, and concluded on December 3rd 2022, with the Fracture Live Event, ending Chapter 3.
The official theme of the season was Paradise, but it was themed around a mysterious substance, Chrome, that had appeared on the island and would consume it.
Loopers celebrate after The Seven defeated the Imagined Order. The Reality Tree appears, changing the southwestern part of the island into a Reality biome. Reality Roots grew and smaller Reality Trees appear from the roots, changing several locations. The Seven investigated the Reality Tree and the Zero Point but most of their members mysteriously ...
After an unknown substance called Chrome began to appear on the Island, the remaining members of The Seven go into a secret research base under Sanctuary to research it. However, the Chrome begins to rapidly spread, consuming the rest of The Seven, besides The Paradigm, who escapes to Reality: 659 through The Zero Point.
With no one left to defend the Island and The Zero Point dormant, The Herald appears and uses her abilities to create a Sanctum over the remains of Sanctuary, and continue spreading Chrome across the Island. Despite the efforts of No Sweat Insurance to keep most locations safe by lifting them into the air, the Chrome still manages to spread to nearly every location on the Island as The Herald's goal was to reach the Reality Tree.
A last resistance of loopers attempt to defend the Reality Tree against The Herald. The resistance fails as The Herald fuses with the Reality Tree and covers all the Island in Chrome, ending with the destruction of both Artemis and Apollo. •Sanctuary has been mostly covered in chrome and became the Herald's Sanctum. •Lazy Lagoon has been covered in chrome and became Lustrous Lagoon. The pirate ship has been lifted into the air by hot air balloons. •Shuffled Shrines has been partially covered in chrome and became Shimmering Shrine. •The Condosseum has been covered in chrome and became the Gleaming Condosseum. The rest of Condo Canyon has been lifted into the air and became Cloudy Condos. •Reality Falls renamed to Reality Tree. •The Reality Tree has stopped blooming and all of its leaves have fallen off. •Reality Bloom Biome changed color and became more autumnal. •The Joneses was lifted up and reinforced, becoming Fort Jonesy. •A spray painted IO Blimp has been stationed over Rave Cave. •All IO Airship wreckages on land have vanished, being: •Coney Collapse •Rocky Wreckage •Tilted Touchdown •The No Sweat Insurance building has been lifted partially off the ground by a hot air balloon. •The Mighty Monument has been covered in chrome and has been renamed to the Last Legs. •Several small reality trees have blossomed from Reality Roots: •Party Paradox has grown near Rave Cave. •Pump 'N Paradox has grown near Shroom Station. •Picturesque Paradox has grown near Tilted Towers. •Peaceful Paradox has grown near Sleepy Sound. •Possible Paradox has grown near the Impossible Rock. •Midair platforms have been stationed above Spawn Island. •A Rift has appeared over the Island, covering Loot Landing with the Loot Lodge. •Seven Research Labs have been built around the Island: •Research Lab Minotaur has been added under the reconstructed building east of Tilted Towers. •Research Lab Basilisk has been added under Synapse Station. •Research Lab Pegasus has been added under a building at the Launchpad. •Vaults have been built in flying stations and hidden underground areas across the Island, requiring Keys to unlock them. •Ele-Vault I has been stationed north of Cloudy Condos. •Maximillian's Scrap Pavilion has been stationed near Loot Lake to collect objects abandoned around the landmark. •A Seven Sentry has begun to spy on the Henchbros during their various activities across the Island. •The Rock Family and the in construction Truckasaurus have been removed. •Pawntoon has gone airborne and become 'Loon Pawntoon. •September 23rd 2022: Birthday Cakes for Fortnite: Battle Royale's 5th Birthday appear around the map. •September 27th 2022: Removed birthday decorations and cakes.

•A Rift in the sky above Shifty Shafts turned the location into Grim Gables, a farm themed location. •Chrome has spread to Coney Crossroads, turning it into Chrome Crossroads. No Sweat Insurance has moved over the location and lifted most buildings into the air. •Chrome has spread to the gas station near Shimmering Shrine. Part of the gas station was lifted using a Sky Platform and became the Driftin' Double Pumps. •Neo Butter Barn has been lifted into the air as Flutter Barn. The land below it has been consumed in Chrome. •Most of Sunken Suburbs has been covered in Chrome. The rest of Sleepy Sound has begun construction into a floating location. Lofty Lighthouse has been lifted into the air and been renamed to Loftier Lighthouse. •More Chrome has begun to consume around the Reality Tree. •The floating gas station north of Cloudy Condos has joined with the rest of the platforms in the location. •The Chrome over The Last Legs has begun to solidify around the feet. •The Flairship has flown east from Rave Cave and The Driftwood has moved southwest near Rocky Reels. •Ele-Vault II has been stationed over the Arid Acres, temporarily connecting to The Driftwood. Ele-Vault III has been stationed south of Chrome Crossroads. •The Rocky Residence has been named Rickety Rocks. •The Seven Sentry has joined the Henchbros in their various activities across the Island.
Update v22.20 (October 18th 2022)
•The land around the Reality Tree has been overrun by Chrome and now hosts a concert for the Howlers by DJ Lyka. •The Shafts has been dug out beneath Grim Gables. A ritual has been made inside the shafts by the Inkquisitor. •Sleepy Sound has mostly been lifted into the air, becoming Shiny Sound. No Sweat Insurance has moved near the location to finish lifting the rest of the buildings in the air. •Chrome has spread over most of Logjam Junction, becoming Chromejam Junction. •The cabin north of the Scratch Pad has become the location for Willow's Haunt. •The Knowby Cabin has appeared near Groovy Grove. Ash Williams can be found here. •The Flairship has moved south over Tilted Towers. •The Driftwood has moved west of Greasy Grove. Ele-Vault IV has been stationed in between. •The Loftier Lighthouse has been stationed with the Cloudy Condos. •Three Unnamed Floating Runways have been stationed over the island, southwest of the Reality Tree, between Shiny Sound and Chromejam Junction, and over Launchpad. •Chrome has expanded further across the island towards Tilted Towers and Greasy Grove. More buildings have been fully consumed at Gleaming Condosseum and Sunken Suburbs. •Decorations have been set up across the island for Fortnitemares 2022. •The Kame House has been reverted to its original building, but the isle remains the same.
