Jun 8, 2021 · The Adriatic Sea is bordered in the southwest by the Apennine (Italian) Peninsula and in the northeast by the Balkan Peninsula. Situated at the head of the Adriatic Sea is its largest Peninsula – the Istrian Peninsula, which is shared by the countries of Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy.

The Adriatic is the northernmost arm of the Mediterranean Sea, extending from the Strait of Otranto (where it connects to the Ionian Sea) to the northwest and the Po Valley. The countries with coasts on the Adriatic are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy, Montenegro, and Slovenia.
Asia is subdivided into 49 countries, five of which (Georgia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Turkey) are transcontinental countries lying partly in Europe.

Central Asia is located just north of Iran and Afghanistan and south of Russia, consisting of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. East Asia defines the region between Central Asia, Russia, and the Pacific Ocean roughly up to the beginning of the Tropic of Cancer.
