The only two original rules to Nuzlocke are 1) you can only catch one pokemon per route or area, and 2) if a pokemon faints it's "dead" and must be boxed forever. All other rules are supplementary made to either increase difficulty, decrease difficulty, increase complexity, or decrease complexity.
