Clearwater is probably your best bet for an overnight for getting from Whistler to Jasper. Very close to Wells Gray Provincial Park and the stunning Helmcken Falls. We are flying out of Calgary, so if we take #1 we'll need to head north to Jasper when we reach Lake Louise, then double back on ourselves the next day to get to Banff, with 2 nights there before our flight. Is the drive on #1 via salmon arm/revelstoke really worth it? Or are we better heading North on #5 at Kamloops?
