The prophet trusted that the heart of Ahab might perhaps be touched, and possibly through him the heart of Jezebel. If she did not become converted, at least the manifest interposition of Jehovah might check her hand from future persecution.

May 4, 2021 · This knowledge is disclosed in Matthew 16:21; 17:23; and 20:19, where Jesus prophesizes that he will be raised from the dead “on the third day” (τῇ τρίτῃ ήμέρᾳ). For Matthew, the phrase “on the third day” does not mean “in three days and three nights.”. It does not even mean “in three days time.”.
