Growing up there was magical; I made my first movies there (Super 8) when I was 10, filmed in my backyard on Lee Road, an unpaved road back then, surrounded by eastern woodland forest that inspired my lifelong passion for nature, wildlife, and Native American studies (the forest was the hunting and fishing grounds of the Quinnipiac tribe).
