Biography. Frederick Green was born in London, 1869. He was educated at Jesus College, Cambridge, BA, 1898, MA, 1901. He studied Egyptology under Kurt Sethe at Göttingen and Strasbourg and excavated sites in Egypt with Flinders Petrie and Somers Clarke, including El Kab, 1895-7.
The collection mainly comprises manuscripts, notebooks, correspondence, maps and drawings relating to the following excavations and surveys: Hierakonpolis, 1898-1900; El Kab, 1896, 1902; the Bucheum, 1930; Nubia, 1906, 1909-10; the Eastern Desert, 1897-1900, 1902, 1910; the Fayum and the Western Desert, 1908-9.
