The Middle Colonies were a subset of the Thirteen Colonies in British America, located between the New England Colonies and the Southern Colonies. Along with the Chesapeake Colonies, this area now roughly makes up the Mid-Atlantic states.
Frederick Green was born in London, 1869. He was educated at Jesus College, Cambridge, BA, 1898, MA, 1901. He studied Egyptology under Kurt Sethe at Göttingen and Strasbourg and excavated sites in Egypt with Flinders Petrie and Somers Clarke, including El Kab, 1895-7.
